• The Claude Code reminder asks once, at the right time: at the end of the turn your brief arrived in. Paste an old brief into a chat to talk about it and it stays quiet.

0.5.9

• Two free hours, every month. Every Mac now gets two hours of Deiko's transcription each month instead of 30 minutes once, and it comes back on the 1st. Settings and the menu bar show what's left and when it resets. Past that, Deiko transcribes on your Mac, as before.

• Deiko is open source. The app, the pipeline that writes your briefs, the memory server and the relay are on GitHub under the MIT licence, so you can read exactly what happens to your screen and your voice.
• Claude Code saves its report before it stops. Connect memory once more in Settings, and if the agent is about to finish a brief without saying what it did, a small hook asks it to first. Once, never twice.

• Your work is named after what you asked, not whichever file happened to be open. A tab you left open in your editor no longer renames the piece of work you were talking about.

• Point back and Deiko follows. Say "remember the pricing fixes we did? In that task, make the page pink" and your brief joins that earlier work, even though it asks for something new. When two pieces of work could fit, it asks which one, with the likeliest first. The card says why: "You pointed back to this."
• Every brief gets its summary. Some briefs quietly came back without one; now they all get one, and Deiko reads all of it when matching your work, not just the first line.
• Short follow-ups stay with their work. "Add undo too" used to start a fresh piece of work when Deiko wasn't sure; now, if it's fairly sure, the card asks "Same work?" first, and one tap keeps it together.
• When a brief starts something new, your agent is told it can look up your earlier work, so "do you remember…" gets an answer instead of a guess.

• Your agent reports back. When Claude Code, Cursor or Codex finishes a brief, it tells Deiko what it did, what it decided and what is still open, so the next chat on that work starts right there. The first time, your agent asks whether it may; choose "Always allow".
• Ask your agent "what's still open in this project?" and it now sees every piece of work there, with where each one stands, not only the ones whose words happened to match.
• New briefs carry the decisions that still hold, so your agent knows what was settled and can say when something has changed.
• ChatGPT and Claude.ai in the browser can't look anything up, so their briefs now carry the work step by step: what you asked each time and what got done. In our tests they answered 9 of 10 questions about earlier work, up from 5.
• A piece of work with nothing left open says what was done last, instead of "None".
• After you update, start a new chat in your agent so it picks up the new abilities.

0.5.4

• What Deiko remembers is yours to tidy. Open a piece of work on the board and every note under "Where it stands" and "Decided" has Edit and Forget. Your agent gets your version from the next brief on, and "Bring back" undoes it.
• Search that gets what you mean. Type "the graph thing" and your signups chart turns up, even though you never said "graph". Hinglish works too: "price update nahi ho raha" finds the price bug. Best matches appear a moment after your typed words filter the board.
• Pick this up. One click on a piece of work, and your next brief joins it from its first word, with where things stand already in the prompt.
• Rules for a project. Pin up to five lines once, like "we use pnpm", and every new brief in that project passes them on.
• Hand it off. Copy a piece of work as tidy Markdown for a PR or a teammate, or export it as a folder with the screenshots you kept.
• This week, on the Dashboard: what moved and what's still open. Turn on a Monday note in Settings if you like a gentle nudge.
• When Deiko files a brief with earlier work on its own, the card asks "Same work?". Answer if you like; it never holds up the send.
• Briefs that showed "Not filed yet" over the last couple of days now file themselves. Anything still waiting files at once with Try now on the board.
• After you update, Deiko fetches its new matching model once, about 200 MB, and tidies away the old one.

0.5.3

• Offline? Your brief still goes to your agent straight away. Only its place on the board waits: the card says "Not filed yet", the board shows how many are waiting, and Deiko files them in order as soon as it can reach the network again. "Try now" on the board does it by hand.
• "Same work?" When Deiko files a brief into an earlier task on its own, the card asks once, with Same and It's new. Answering is optional and never holds up the send. Until you answer, the coin says "Looks like Pricing bug" rather than "Carries on from".
• Task notes tell your agent only what you can stand behind. Where a task stands and what was decided come from briefs you placed or Deiko filed with confidence; a brief that was only guessed in is listed as "not confirmed". Every line says which brief it came from, and when a note is trimmed it says how many older decisions it left out.
• An agent can take back an old decision. Its write-back can list what no longer holds under "Retired", and the task note stops showing it as current. A decision an agent copied back from the note counts once, and lines in a write-back that read like orders to the next agent are dropped.
• Notes don't outlive what they describe. Move a brief out of a task or delete it, and its words leave that task's note.
• Your memory can't be half-written or overwritten. Every file Deiko keeps is saved whole or not at all, a task or project list that won't read is left alone rather than replaced, the app and a filing take turns on those lists, and each keeps its previous version beside it.
• Export memory… in the menu bar zips your briefs, screenshots, notes and task lists into one file you can keep. Recordings and downloaded models stay out, so it's small.
• Big boards stay quick. Deiko re-reads only the briefs that changed, so filing a new brief on a board of 10,000 reads about ten times less than before.
• When your agent searches your memory, each result says which project it's from.

0.5.2

• Every brief opens in Deiko. Click a card on the board and it reads as one column: what you said, the screenshots you pointed at, each with the words you said over it, and what your agent sent back. Click a screenshot for Quick Look. Copy the brief, move it or delete it from the same page. Double-clicking a card no longer opens a text file.
• Hovering explains things. The size labels ("Quick one", "Needs a thinker") and "On its own" say what they mean, and every tip in the app pops up in the same bubble, long ones included.
• The board is steadier. Hover and clicks land on the card under the pointer, scrolling past an open "mic checks & scraps" fold no longer jitters, and dragging one brief onto another groups them again. Board moves undo with ⌘Z, and a deleted brief goes to the Trash rather than vanishing.
• Send without flinging: ⌘↩ on the review card sends the brief to your last app, and VoiceOver can send it from the coin.
• Settings opens with ⌘, and the menu-bar menu has About. Clicking Deiko in the Dock or Finder opens its window. Deiko checks for updates every six hours.
• A network blip no longer drops words: each piece of audio gets one retry. Quitting always closes a running session first, so nothing is lost mid-sentence.
• Briefs are ready sooner. Timings run alongside the upload, the meaning model loads once per brief, board thumbnails are cached, and scrolling never waits on Deiko's shortcut keys.
• Your briefs moved from Documents to ~/Library/Application Support/Deiko, once, by themselves. Your licence key now lives in the Keychain.
• A screenshot showing a password or key is now deleted, not just held back. The privacy lines in Settings say exactly what is sent and what is kept.

• Filing asks better questions. For each earlier task, Deiko now asks whether your brief is the same piece of work, not just the same app or topic, and files it there only when one task is clearly it. When two could be it, the card asks "Which one?". Work that is related but different starts its own task with a "Related to …" line instead of being merged in.
• Mic checks, greetings and a lone "Thank you." go to Odds and ends, even when they were recorded on a task's screen.
• Projects follow what you work in: the code project in your editor, or the site in your browser. Web work no longer piles into one project.
• Deiko can tell your pages apart. It reads the name and address of the page you are on in the browser, keeping only the site and path and never anything after the "?", and the file open in your editor.
• Briefs are matched by meaning as well as words, so "the graph thing" finds your chart work. A small model does this on your Mac. It downloads once after you update, about 200 MB, and nothing it reads leaves your Mac.
• Settings → Memory → "Give your agent your Deiko memory". Your coding agent, whether Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another that supports MCP, can then search your past briefs itself when you mention earlier work. It gets your prompts, the agents' notes and task notes. It never gets screenshots you removed.
• The board puts each task on its own shelf, gathers single briefs under "On their own", and keeps odds and ends, including recordings that never finished, faded at the bottom. A card that picks up an old task says how old, such as "picks up Signups chart from 3 weeks ago".
• Deiko's windows have rounded corners and can be minimized. While one is open, Deiko sits in the Dock and has an Edit menu, so pasting into a text field works.
• What leaves your Mac to file a brief now also includes page titles, page addresses (the site and path only) and open document names. Screen text and screenshots still never go, and Deiko keeps none of it.

0.5.0

• Deiko now remembers what you meant. Every brief is filed into a project and a task, the piece of work it belongs to. Say "same bug as yesterday" and it joins yesterday's task; the review card says "carries on from" and you can change it there. When Deiko can't tell which of several tasks you mean, the card asks "Which one?" with one tap per option.
• Each task keeps a note: where the work stands, what was decided and when, and every brief in it. The next brief on that task tells your agent where it stands, and a coding agent gets the note to read the history. Coding agents are asked to write back what they did, decided, left open and touched, and that becomes the task's memory, even in a new chat.
• The board groups briefs by task, with a project filter, search by task name, and "Move to task" and "Move to project" on every card. Briefs that make no sense on their own, such as a mic test, go into "Odds and ends" at the bottom.
• Personas. Pick how each brief is written up: a QA ticket, a code change or an analysis. Each is a plain Markdown file in ~/Documents/Deiko/personas that you can rewrite, and Deiko uses your version. A persona can also ask your agent to file the ticket in Jira, Linear, GitHub or Notion when it has those tools.
• What leaves your Mac to file a brief: what you said, a one-line summary of it, your window titles with anything key-shaped stripped, and a few lines about your earlier tasks, through Deiko's relay to a sorting model. Deiko keeps none of it. Screenshots and text read off your screen never go. With your own Groq key, your audio and summary still skip Deiko; filing goes through the relay, and the app tells you so once. Settings has a "Sort briefs into tasks" switch if you would rather it sent nothing.
• The review card's "Left this Mac" line now says when a brief went out to be filed, and Settings says exactly what goes where for your setup.
• Sessions stay until you delete them. The board and its tasks are Deiko's memory, so nothing is cleared automatically any more.

0.4.9

• The brief can be written in the language you speak. Settings → Brief language → "Same as I speak". The default has not changed: whatever you say still comes back as English, which is the language coding agents work in, and mixing two languages in one sentence still works.
• Text on your screen is now read in your Mac's own languages, not only English. A Chinese or Japanese menu came back blank before, so the brief named nothing you had pointed at.
• The offline recogniser is no longer fixed to English. Settings lists the languages this Mac can recognise without the network — which ones depends on what macOS has downloaded, and nothing is ever sent to Apple.
• When the cloud transcript and the on-device one agree on nothing, the brief now keeps the cloud's words. It used to keep the on-device ones, which for a language that recogniser cannot hear is noise.
• Fixed "Update to …" in the menu opening a page that did not exist.

• Drawing no longer needs the mouse button. Hold Left Option and move the cursor: a loop is a lasso, a straight sweep is an arrow, back-and-forth is a scribble. Let go to capture. It starts after the cursor has travelled a little, so Option+Backspace and Option-typed characters leave no mark.
• Deiko no longer intercepts any click. Clicks reach your app during a session, including Option+click, and Option+drag does what it does in that app, such as selecting text, without Deiko drawing over it. So you can click through a bug and mark things along the way.
• The faint trail that followed the cursor is gone. Colour on screen now means a stroke you are drawing.
• Scribbles are drawn at highlighter weight on the screenshot, so the text under them stays readable.
• Fixed "Delete session" appearing to freeze the app. Its confirmation was opening behind the orb.

• Fixed a crash at the start of a session after the audio hardware changed under a long-running app — AirPods connecting, a call app switching the sample rate. Each recording now asks the hardware again.
