The one-line version

Where Wispr Flow is the better tool
- You write a lot of prose by voice. Flow's cleanup — removing the ums, fixing the false starts, applying your tone — is the product, and it is aimed squarely at that.
- You want it in every app. Any text field, all day.
- You are not on a Mac, or not only on a Mac. Deiko is macOS only, and macOS 14 or later at that.
Where Deiko is the better tool
- Half of what you mean is visual. "This one, not that one" is a perfectly good sentence when you are pointing. Dictation records the words and loses the pointing. Deiko records both: the crop under your cursor, the element's label, the window it lives in.
- The reader is a coding agent. The brief is shaped for one — what you pointed at, what you said about it, in the order it happened — and it drops in as a folder rather than as a paragraph you paste.
- Your sentences are bilingual. No language setting. It comes back as English whichever way you said it.
- You want screenshots never to leave the machine. They do not, and no setting makes them.
The honest overlap
Both save you typing, so on that axis they compete. But the reason you were typing matters: Flow is faster at producing text, and Deiko is faster at producing understanding of a screen. If you have never once wished your dictation could see what you were looking at, you want Flow.
